Job Loss

Job loss is a disease that is spreading like a plague through America. Today, President Obama spoke briefly on the issue of job loss.

Obama noted that the loss of nearly 600,000 jobs in January made it the single worst month for job loss in 35 years and that 3.6 million people now have lost their jobs since the recession began.

Inexcusably, many companies are laying off workers and are leading to a definite loss of hope in the political system that our country has seemingly ‘adopted.’ It seems that President Obama notices the problem and he “demands action.”

"These numbers demand action," Obama said. "It is inexcusable and irresponsible for any of us to get bogged down in distraction, delay or politics as usual while millions of Americans are being put out of work. Now is the time for Congress to act."

Obama’s administration demands change and they promised the people change. Obama refers to his previous statements in the same speech.

He warned that "if we drag our feet and fail to act, this crisis will turn into a catastrophe." The American people "did not choose more of the same in November," he said. "They did not send us to Washington get stuck in partisan posturing, to try to score political points. They did not send us here to turn back to the same tried and failed approaches that were rejected. . . . They sent us here to make change, with the expectation that we would act."

My dilemma is not how much I can trust Obama, because I can’t already. The Bible tells us to trust only God. In the same sense I’ve never met the man before and therefore cannot get a decent opinion of the man without actually having met him. If I have no opinion of him then how can I trust him? It’s not a trust or a moral issue; it’s that the change that Obama plans to make will lead down a path of political Socialism.

There is regrettably a sense of political socialism that found its roots during Bush’s administration, but the watering will come from the proposed solutions brought forth by our new president.

If we put the government in control of our medical expenses, transportation, education, food distribution, and source of income, then there will be room for corrupt politicians to take control and lead us down a path toward political absolutism. So what will we do?

The only proposed possibility to keep our livelihood out of the hands of corrupt tyrants, or more commonly known as mankind, is to take responsibility for ourselves. Stop leaning on the government and start earning your own keep. That seems to be the best possible solution. This also aligns with Biblical thinking, 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

A Hateful God?!

Watch this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M114bK4qaiM

Obviously there are many who hold the Church to a very low regard, my question is why?

Why does this guy hate us so much, yeah I understand the reprobate mind, and I understand that it is the person's choice to reject the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What I don't understand is why they are not even open to it at all?

What happened in this man's life that has made him hate Christianity so much? The answer is not quite as wild, or theoretical as it seems.

People want a hard answer so that they can stretch their minds, people want to figure stuff out, they want their pride to be tickled just enough so that they can get by with it. I'm not going to tickle anybody's pride by my answer...

The answer is that people who beleive that God is love and that God is good and that God is the answer, these people hate people that have questions that Christians don't have answers to. Unfortunately, this hatred is manifested.

As Richard Dawkins reads the only Bible that he will ever read (the people that claim to be God's ambassadors II Cor. 5:20) are hating and attacking people that have questions.

I admit, Dawkins is quite arrogant and proud and so is Pat Condell, but the god of this age has blinded their minds and has done everything he can to keep their voices ringing in the ears of the public trying to convince people of the existence of God. And we have to love them.

These are our responses to the worlds attacks, to attack them back for bothering us in our little bubble. Is that the New Testament view of the church?

During the first century, the church was hated big time, but when tribulations came and sickness fell on mankind, everyone fled and the church was the only one left that was willing to stay around to help out in the times of sickness.

Back then, the church was valued by the government, though not respected by local officials. Today, the church is not respected, nor valued because the church is just interested in just hanging out and staying in their own little bubble.

A new interpretation of Matthew 28:18-20 is not needed, another way of preaching Acts 1:8 is not needed, another generic mission's conference focusing on Isaiah 6:8 is not goingto help anything.

The only thing that is going to help is application and reverential pratice of these long loved passages of scripture.

The challenge is: The church wants to be recognized by the government but when will the church do something TO BE recognized by the government?

Capsizing Mega Churches in America

Famous televangelist Robert H. Schuller, of Crystal Cathedral Church in Garden Grove, California is in danger of watching his life's work fall apart.

In a recent article by Gillian Flaccus, information says that the economy is destroying this assembly and sending this church into the ground belly up.

"The Crystal Cathedral blames the recession for its woes. But it's clear that the elder Schuller's carefully orchestrated leadership transition, planned over a decade, has stumbled badly."
(Televangelism empire in chaos over family split - Gillian Flaccus)

This should not be a surprise to us at all, as Christians that are interested in the side of politics, this should not be breaking news to us at all.

But, aren't churches under the divine protection of God? Is His Word returning void? If this great church that was built on faith and many people came to the Lord (supposedly) on television, then why is this church on the brink of falling apart?

This is the question, what is God's intention? Why is this great church of faith falling apart?

Christian Politics in Middle East

January 30, 2009

There seems to be a small blight of hope for the Middle Eastern view of Christianity. Tomorrow, Iraq is voting to confirm a seat in provincial elections. Obviously, I'm a Christian and everyone pretty much knows that, so I'm happy to hear of this information.

The situation in Iraq seems to be dim for candidate Sami Habib Istifo, even though his campaign manager notes that he has a great possibility of winning, he faces a very hateful system of people that are trying with all their might to completely destroy any shred of Christianity in the world. These same people (whom we call "terrorists") must be very upset that the "Great Evil" known as America has not only rubbed off its political scenario, but also has shed a drop of its religion into the Middle East.

To me, this is great, to Iraqi Muslim Extremists, this is a punch in the mouth. Professor Istifo is a professor at a technical university in Mosul, so he does have prestige that powers a punch behind his name, but even with this prestige and support from neighboring countries, Professor Istifo has named someone to be his successor should he die before the election tomorrow.

"The Christian candidate has reason to be fearful -- in the past two months there have been two kidnappings in Hamdaniyah as well as a car bomb attack on Kurdish soldiers patrolling the town."(Iraq Christian candidate hopes he lives to see voting day - by Karim Talbi)

Obviously, Professor Istifo is taking a step in faith and is trying to influence his community with Christianity, but how much should American suppporters support him. Obviously, we should pray hard if we would like to see any amount of Jesus-manifestation there at all. So, with that note, I'll leave this open to an answer to my question.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing to have a local Christian authority in Iraq and why?
